Stericycle reports 20% increase in revenue for 2Q

July 29 -- Medical waste and compliance services firm Stericycle reported earnings of $0.61 per share for the second quarter, and increase in revenue of 20% over the same time last year.

In the quarter ending June 30, the company reported revenues of $347.7 million, up 20% from the same time period in 2009 when revenues of $289.3 million were reported. The company, which has made several acquisitions in the past year, said acquisitions made within the last 12 months contributed about $29 million to its sales for the quarter. Earnings per share also increased to $0.61 per share, up from $0.51 per share in the second quarter 2009.
