July 29 -- The American Forest & Paper Association has a new executive director of recovered fiber, the trade group said.
Brian Hawkinson has been name to that position.
Hawkinson brings public affairs experience in the corporate, non-profit and association sectors. He previously served at DDC Advocacy, a strategy, technology and communications firm, Public Affairs Council and the United Way of America. He most recently ran his own company, The Hawkinson Group, which provided issues management and advocacy services.
"Brianīs combination of substantive knowledge and public affairs experience will help us better apply the good work our industry is already doing on recycling and fiber recovery to relevant public policy debates," CEO Donna Harman said.
Chuck Fuqua also has been named as executive director of strategic communications at AF&PA.
