Interstate Waste Services in N.J. names new CEO

July 28 -- Interstate Waste Services of Ramsey, N.J., has named a new CEO.

Michael de Castro, formerly global operations director at Americas Merchant Gases for Air Products and Chemicals Inc., has been named to the leadership position with the waste management company.

Prior to joining Air Products in 2006, de Castro spent 14 years with American Ref-Fuel Co., and was most recently vice president of operations for the waste-to-energy company. He received a bachelor´s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Alabama in 1984 and an MBA from Boston University in 2002.

Interstate Waste Services provides residential, commercial, municipal and industrial waste management services with operations in New England, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia.
