The Atlanta-based environmental services company said revenue increased 20.8% to $28.4 million for the quarter ended Dec. 31. That compares to revenue of $23.5 million for the fourth quarter of 2009.
"Looking ahead, we continue to position Perma-Fix at the forefront of the nuclear waste treatment and nuclear services industry," said Louis F. Centofanti, chairman and CEO.
Perma-Fix earned $5.7 million, or 10 cents per share, during the fourth quarter. That compares to earnings of $725,000, or 1 cent per share, during the fourth quarter of 2008.
The company also said that revenue from its industrial segment fell to $2.1 million for the quarter, down from $3 million for the previous fourth quarter. The decrease was "due primarily to lower used oil prices and deferred waste treatment projects due to the economy."
