Ohio plastics recycling company closes its doors

April 28 -- Advanced Plastics Reclaiming in Elyria, Ohio, has closed, according to local media reports.

The Lorain Morning Journal, the local newspaper, reported the plastics recycling firm posted a sign on its door notifying workers the third shift on April 23 had been canceled and the plant was closed.

APR Elyria, a member of the Association of Postconsumer Plastics Recyclers, recycled PET bottles from curbside and deposit collections, according to the association’s website.

Messages sent to the business were not immediately returned. Phone calls to the plant during business hours went to an answering machine.
