1. The recycling rate reflects recycling of waste managed by the Department of Sanitation during fiscal year 2005. Rate does not include commercial recycling.
2. The residential recycling rate reflects paper, commingled metal/glass/plastic, and organics recycling of curbside and containerized waste collected by the New York City Department of Sanitation.
