Bandit Industries Inc. has introduced the hydraulic feed, drum-style Model 1290-H. The 37-inch diameter drum is nearly double that of competitive 12-inch drum-style chippers on the market, the company said. The added diameter enables the 1290-H to cut nearly everything in its path with the bottom half of the drum. Cutting in this manner, on a downward arc and on an angle, allows the 1290-H to chip with ease and consume less fuel, according to the company. Vermeer introduces gearbox-driven stump cutter
VERMEER MANUFACTURING CO. has introduced the SC60TX Stump Cutter. The stump cutter is a patented gearbox-driven cutter wheel system with a narrow profile. The self-propelled 60-horsepower diesel engine is combined with a direct drive system that transfers horsepower from an upper gearbox to a lower gearbox and eliminates belt alignment and replacement tasks, as compared to a belt-drive system, the company said. The cutter has an operating width of 51 inches but has the ability to retract and fit through a 36-inch gate or other similarly tight openings, the company said. Chipper generates clean pulp and paper chips at high rates
Morbark Inc. has developed the Model 2355 Flail Chiparvestor. The chipper is designed to produce clean pulp and paper chips at high rates, even when processing precommercial thinnings and nonmerchantable and juvenile timber. Among the 2355´s standard features are an enclosed, weatherized operator´s cab with combination air conditioner-heater, a twin-disc hydraulic clutch, a twin-auger discharge, two separate hydraulic tanks for enhanced oil cooling and a telescoping debris conveyor. Morbark Inc. has introduced the Model 12 Blizzard brush chipper. Targeted to municipalities, tree services, equipment fleets and rental stores, the Blizzard is designed to fit the niche for a basic 12-inch-capacity drum-style chipper, the company said. Stump cutters do their job in tight spaces
Vermeer Manufacturing Co. has introduced two new stump cutters, the SC90 and SC130. The 9-horsepower SC90 and the 13-horsepower SC130 tackle stumps in confined locations that are inaccessible by larger equipment. Both units are portable and easy to maneuver, the company said. The cutter wheel can be changed in a few minutes with two wrenches, the company said. Composed of 12 tungsten-carbide teeth common on larger, more powerful units, the cutter wheel is segmented into four sections. If a section becomes damaged, it can be changed without replacing the entire wheel. The dual-grip rubber-mounted handlebar minimizes vibration and allows comfortable grip variations based on the angle of the machine and the operator´s height, according to the manufacturer. Mulcher dispenses straw up to 100 feet
Vermeer Manufacturing Co. has introduced the Top Gun 185 power mulcher. With its hydraulically powered discharge spout, the mulcher can dispense straw up to 100 feet across, swing left and right on a 300-degree arc, and pivot 20 degrees up or 30 degrees down. A deflector at the end of the spout directs mulch placement and helps spread the flow of material as needed. Nearly every function of the Top Gun is handled from a multifunction joystick that is mounted on the armrest of a swivel seat in the operator´s station. Electric-over-hydraulic controls also located on the joystick handle the rotating direction of the feed rollers, set the depth of cut for the bale, and adjust the angle of the deflector at the end of the spout. Chipper now available with hydraulic horizontal thrower
Bandit Industries Inc. has begun offering its recently introduced Model 2680 Beast Recycler with a hydraulic powered horizontal thrower. The thrower, mounted on the end of the Model 2680´s 12-inch discharge conveyor, allows material to be loaded into end opening chip vans or to be spread out over a site. Since material is discharged in the same direction in which it flows into the machine, the Beast and the chip van can be positioned on the same roadway, eliminating the need to create a separate landing, the company said. The 2680 is effective in converting brush, logs, whole trees, stumps, logging and land-clearing waste, construction and demolition debris, railroad ties, telephone poles, sawmill waste and pallets into usable products such as compost, landscaping mulch, boiler fuel and animal bedding, the company said. Bandit Industries Inc. has introduced the Model 2090 Tree Bandit, an 18-inch capacity drum-style whole tree chipper. The machine´s 24-by-20˝-inch opening is effective for chipping limbs and other hard-to-grind pieces, the company said. The 2090 is equipped with two horizontal wheels. The top wheel measures 27 inches in diameter and 32 inches in length, the bottom wheel 10 5/8 inches in diameter and 32 inches in length. The unit is available with or without a loader. Vermeer unveils two brush chippers
Vermeer Manufacturing Co. has introduced two brush chippers, the BC1400 and the BC2000 with winch. The BC1400 is powered by a 122-horsepower engine and features a feed roller control bar, an integrated bottom stop bar, and an eight-position, adjustable-feed roller tension system to aid in controlling the feed rollers and the feeding conditions. The tension on the feed rollers can be set to match the type of material being chipped. The BC1400 is designed with a hinged, lockable hood closure to enhance appearance and enable easy access to most of the major components, including the engine, the fuel tank and the battery. A hand crank that rotates the chip chute 270 degrees is standards on the BC1400. The BC2000 is faster and can handle larger loads, the company said. Equipped with 150 feet of wear-resistant synthetic rope, the chipper can create up to 2,000 pounds of line pull to move material toward the chipper and onto the feed table, according to the manufacturer. Bandit Industries Inc. has introduced the digital Auto Feed Plus system for use on hand-fed brush chippers and whole-tree chippers used by the waste disposal and tree care industries. The system not only offers control over starting and stopping the feed, it also will reverse a unit´s feed system. When reversing, the material is pulled out of the cut, which prevents wood from rubbing against the disc or knives, quickening recovery time and eliminating the potential for burning and dulling knives, according to the company. Mobile land-clearing unit handles rough terrain
Bandit Industries Inc. has introduced a mobile, self-propelled version of the 3680 Beast Recycler for off-highway use. The unit also is marketed to orchard operators for processing unwanted trees. With a 16-inch-diameter capacity, the chipper can be used for residential or small land and lot clearing. Morbark has introduced the model 2070XL twister chipper/chip box combination, designed to provide a heavy-duty midrange chipper that does not require a specially outfitted truck. The turntable chipper, with a 180-degree rotation and 14 locking positions, allows brush to be fed from either side of the unit, according to the company. The turntable is mounted on a ball-bearing turret for one-handed operation. The chip box is equipped with dual hydraulic lift cylinders outfitted with lock valves for operator safety, according to the company. Quad wheel feed system collapses limbs, branches
Bandit Industries Inc. has introduced a quad wheel feed system for collapsing limbs and branches into chippers. Material entering a chipper equipped with the system will encounter two new wheels and then move on to a second set. The system puts the limbs and branches into contact with more surface area, allowing more complete collapsing, according to the company.
