Advanced Disposal collects 10,000 plastic bottles at event

Feb. 25 -- Advanced Disposal Services Inc. collected and recycled more than 10,000 plastic bottles at a recently held marathon in Jacksonville, Fla.

The Jacksonville based solid waste management company, for the second year in a row, sponsored the Donna Marathon and half marathon by providing garbage collection and recycling services.

The company´s "Beautiful Bag Ladies" were stationed at the post race celebration area to help collect recyclables and teach about the importance of recycling, the Advanced Disposal said.

"As part of our on-going program of community involvement and commitment to the environment, Advanced Disposal promotes recycling through our Bag Ladies program," said Mary O´Brien, chief marketing officer for Advanced Disposal. "Thanks to our Bag Ladies and recycling containers throughout the race course, more than 10,000 plastic bottles and cans collected will now be diverted from landfills and recycled properly."
