WM Inc. acquires C&D debris recycler in Milwaukee

Jan. 8 -- Waste Management Inc. is acquiring City Wide Recycling LLC, a construction and demolition debris recycler in Milwaukee.

City Wide operates southeastern Wisconsin´s largest, and only automated, processing facility for recyclable C&D debris, said John Kelly, Midwest group recycling director for Waste Management.

"Promoting building site recycling is a natural extension of the services we provide to other transporters and our own customers," Kelly said.

The acquired business receives mixed loads of waste from job sites and began operating in October 2006.

City Wide founders John Hansen and Eric Konik will be consultants to Waste Management, helping grow construction-sector recycling around the country, Kelly said.
