Motorola accepts business-class products for recycling

Nov. 23 -- Many Motorola business-class products can now be shipped back to the manufacturer for no-cost recycling, the electronics maker said today.

The company, based in Shaumburg, Ill., began the accepting business equipment in its take-back recycling program this week.

The products covered in the program include all Motorola enterprise mobility equipment, including mobile and portable two-way radios, handheld mobile computers, barcode scanners, imagers, in-vehicle mobile workstations, accessories, network infrastructure equipment, and computers, laptops and monitors.

Batteries for these devices are also included, but must be taken out of the equipment before they are shipped back for recycling. The company said there is generally no cost for customers to recycle their old products but freight charges may be applied in some cases.
