Waste Services adds $28M to market with acquisitions

Oct. 6 -- Waste Services Inc. is adding $28 million in annual revenue in the Miami-Dade County, Fla., market through two acquisitions, the solid waste management company said.

Burlington, Ontario-based Waste Services completed the acquisition of operations and related assets of Republic Services Inc. in Miami-Dade County. The company said it also acquired the Miami-Dade operations of DisposAll Inc.

The purchase price for the acquisitions totaled $48 million. Waste Services said certain assets, including operating facilities will be redundant and sold to lower the overall investment price.

"We are very pleased to announce the completion of these two highly accretive acquisitions. Our strategic assets in the region allow us to internalize disposal from the acquired businesses and to realize significant operating cost savings," CEO David Sutherland-Yoest said.
