Hertz launches environmentally friendly fleet of rental cars

Sept. 5 -- Hertz Corp. is launching what it calls its Green Collection of rental cars.

The Green Collection consists of environmentally friendly and fuel-efficient vehicles that consumers can reserve by make and model, the Park Ridge, N.J., company said.

They include the Toyota Camry, the Ford Fusion, the Buick LaCross and the Hyundai Sonata. Many of the Camrys, Fusions and LaCrosses also have the SmartWay certification from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for lower air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, Hertz said.

Hertz has a fleet of 35,000 vehicles in the Green Collection and guarantees availability at 50 major airports in the United States.
