Northwest restaurant chain will switch to wind power

Aug. 15 -- A Pacific Northwest restaurant company will begin using wind power for all of the electrical needs at its 40 Burgerville and Noodlin´ restaurants in northwest Oregon and southwest Washington.

Holland Inc. said use of wind power will allow the company to avoid adding 17.4 million pounds of carbon dioxide to the region’s air each year. That’s like removing 1,700 cars from the road, the company said.

The company also will use wind power at the its Vancouver, Wash., headquarters.
