AERT begins operations at Arkansas plastic recycling plant

SPRINGDALE, ARK. (April 22) -- Advanced Environmental Recycling Technologies Inc. has started operations at its largest plastic recycling plant, the company announced April 22.

The Lowell, Ark., facility has the capacity to clean and process 100 million pounds of recycled polyethylene plastic per year. The company then transfers the material to its extrusion and manufacturing facility in Springdale, where it is converted into composite building materials.

AERT converts recovered plastic and wood fiber waste into outdoor decking systems, door and window components and exterior trim and fascia components. The company has two plants in Arkansas and one each in Texas and Louisiana.
