U.S. Plastic Lumber to supply railroad ties to Chicago Transit Authority

BOCA RATON, FLA. (Oct. 16) -- U.S. Plastic Lumber Corp. signed a contract Oct. 16 to supply an additional 10,000 recycled composite railroad ties to the Chicago Transit Authority.

U.S. Plastic Lumber´s DuraTie composite railroad ties are made of recycled plastic and fiberglass and have a life expectancy two to three times longer than wood, according to the company.

The Chicago Transit Authority has purchased several thousand railroad ties from the company.
