MillerCoors recycles or reuses 98% of brewery waste

June 30 -- MillerCoors reused or recycled 98% of its brewery waste, according to the company´s 2009 Sustainable Development report.

The recycled brewery waste includes glass, paperboard, plastics, metals and byproducts of the brewing process. It also reduced the diameter of its aluminum cans, reducing 10.4 million pounds of aluminum usage and saving $10.1 million last year.

The report, available at www.MillerCoors.com, is the company´s first since the 2008 joint venture between Miller Brewing Co. and Coors Brewing Co.

"In our first year as a new company, we have established a strategy around sustainable development," said Cornell Boggs, MillerCoors chief responsibility and ethics officer. "This report brings our hard work to light and puts the focus on MillerCoors people, business partners and communities."
