Businesses to reuse to cut costs, reduce footprint

Jan. 27 -- Businesses will embrace reuse to cut costs and as a tool to reduce their environmental footprint, according to the Reusable Packaging Association.

"2009 is a perfect storm that will accelerate the reuse of materials throughout the supply chain across all industries," said Bob Klimko, chairman of the RPA. "The recession is driving businesses to reduce costs wherever possible."

That, coupled with the global awareness that businesses need to change resource-depleting practices, will result in the adoption of reusable packaging by more companies, Klimko said. Businesses are more open to reusable packaging systems than ever, he said. More information is available at www.choosereusables.org.
