Carroll County, Maryland looking for solid waste options

Carroll County, Md. is looking into various options for future waste disposal, including potential privatization of services, the Carroll County Times reported.

The county Board of Commissioners voted to put out a request for concepts on private business alternatives for waste disposals and landfill operations, the newspaper reported. Currently, the county operates the Northern Landfill and possible options included expanding the facility.

The county previously planned to send its waste to Frederick County for a proposed WTE plant, but backed out in August, the newspaper reported.
