Trash is now being disposed of at an expansion of the Garrett County landfill in Maryland, according to a local news report.
Cell 4 at the site is completed and work on a new cell could begin in the spring. Those two cells will provide an estimated 15 to 20 years of additional capacity, according to the Cumberland Times-News.
Use of clay and rock from the site helped save nearly $300,000 on construction of the project, the newspaper said.
