Seattle has asked the full Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals to overturn a decision that the city's opt-out law for the Yellow Pages is unconstitutional, the Seattle Times reported.
The court previously ruled the law violated the First Amendment of the Constitution, and the Yellow Pages are protected free speech. For a hearing to be held, 15 of the 28 judges on the court must vote to accept the case, the newspaper reported.
Nearly 80,000 residents and business have opted out of receiving the books through the system run by the Seattle Public Utilities, the newspaper reported.
