When you have a population of more than 1.3 billion, you are bound to get crazy news stories.

China never disappoints -- from goldfish beauty pageants to a guy who marches his 5,000 ducks through the streets.

I've touched on the plight of China's sanitation workers before. They are a thirsty, underpaid and brave bunch.

And at least one of them has no patience for littering.

A group of people were enjoying breakfast in a van Nov. 3 in Zhuzhou city in the Hunan Province. After the meal, someone in the group apparently threw some trash out of the van's window.

Sanitation worker Guo Nengfang saw the whole thing and went bananas. The 33-year-old reportedly opened the van door and attacked the group with a knife.

Zhou Ting, 22, lost her middle finger in the attack, according to a report from China Daily.

Nengfang had been on the job only 20 days. Before that he made his living "wandering around," according to the news outlet.

The report also stated the obvious:

"Guo Nengfang's state of mind is still unsettled."
