Accreditation for electronic waste testing developed in the U.K.

An accreditation for testing electronic waste has been developed in the United Kingdom.

Valpak Limited will administer the program, developed by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, Plastics and Rubber Weekly reported.

Currently, waste shipment guidelines developed by the European Union specify that electronic waste must be tested to ensure it is for reuse and not simply being dumped. The nature of that particular test was not specified. The new standards set out to develop conformed tests to check for illegal exports.
