A Virginia hospital has agreed to pay a $19,920 fine to settle allegations that the hospital failed to properly label and date containers of chemical waste.
Sentara Norfolk General Hospital of Norfolk, Va., agreed to the penalty, the U.S. EPA announced. The EPA cited the hospital for violating the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, the law which governs the proper treatment, storage and disposal of hazardous waste.
As part of the settlement, Sentara neither admitted nor denied liability for the allegations, the EPA said in a statement.
