Hundreds of exhibitors attended Waste Expo in Las Vegas this year, bringing new products for use in waste management, recycling and environmental services. ONSET COMPUTER CORP. has developed the HOBO pendant logger, a miniature data logger that records underwater temperature and light levels at depths up to 30 meters. The pendant provides accuracy to within 0.5°C and up to 52,000 readings, making it suitable for long-term deployment. The logger features a one-year user-replaceable battery and an eyelet for easy mounting with cable ties.

WEIMA AMERICA INC. has developed the WL(K) series single-shaft shredder. Machines are fit with rotors that have screw-mounted drive-side shaft journals. The screw connection allows the journals to be hardened beforehand. The resulting improvement in hardness increases the torsion and flexural stress limits of the shaft journal, which helps to prevent wear and damage.
